Showing Up To The Studio

There’s something comforting about the first quiet sip of coffee in my studio.
The stillness before the chaos. The way the light spills in through the windows and dances across the backdrop wall. It’s in these quiet little corners of my day that I often pause and think, how lucky am I to do what I love, every single day?

Running a small business isn’t easy.
There are the long nights, the emails I forget to reply to until 11 p.m., the curveballs, the to-do lists that multiply overnight.
But even with all that, I genuinely love showing up here. The routine of unlocking the door, setting down my bag, turning on the music, and stepping into my creative space, it’s sacred. It’s mine.
This little studio corner I’m sitting in today has seen so much.
Newborn giggles, first-time moms nervously cradling their babies, couples celebrating big milestones.
It’s more than just a room, it’s a witness to joy, emotion, and transformation. And every time I pick up my camera, I get to be part of that story.
But behind the lens, there’s also me, the business owner, the creative, the human who sometimes second-guesses herself.
The one who has learned more from mistakes than from any course, who built her brand from scratch, and who still has days when imposter syndrome knocks loudly on the door.
And still, I wouldn’t trade this life for anything.
I think that’s the magic of entrepreneurship: it challenges you and rewards you all at once. It forces growth in the most unexpected ways. Every email, every booking, every creative problem I solve reminds me that I’m building something real. Something lasting.
I don’t always have the answers. I don’t have a five-year plan mapped out in bullet points and color-coded folders.
But I do have passion. I have grit. I have this deep joy in knowing that I get to create beautiful work, connect with amazing clients, and build something that’s completely my own.
So when I sit in this little corner with my coffee in hand, I’m not just reflecting, I’m celebrating.
I’m soaking in the privilege of being able to call this work. Of turning creativity into a career. Of navigating the unknown and still waking up excited to try again tomorrow.
To every creative, dreamer, or small business owner reading this: keep going.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to keep showing up, with heart, with curiosity, and maybe with a really good cup of coffee.
